Sr-S Student Work

Here are a few pieces of work from our look into the true meaning of ANZAC Day. The students had a few short questions to answer, before they began researching specific diggers, war medals and different wars through history. (Added 25th April)

This week in class for maths we have been looking at long multiplication and a little bit of long division. Today the class began a project to show how mathematics, and in particular multiplication, can be used in real life. Their task was to design a garden bed, including a path, different fruits and vegetables, and even a scarecrow, and use given values to work out a total cost of their personal garden bed. Each square in their maths books represented 1 square metre, and they had to use their knowledge of area, perimeter, multiplication and addition to solve their own costs. Click here to check out some of the wonderful creations and examples of their maths work!

This week as part of a comprehension activity, the class created their own 'Four pics/1 word' pages for other classmates to try and solve. Some of them were very creative and showed great thinking skills! See if you can work out what the answers are...Click here to have a look at the images.
