Penny Finally as her last, 'special' item, Penny's family brought in a very special guest. For the second week in a row, Sr-S got to meet one of the students' pets! Penny has a little Cavoodle puppy named Rufus. She told us that he is one year old and is a very active dog that loves attention. He got plenty of that from the class as they all lined up to give Rufus a pat and play with him. He is a very cute puppy and it was a great way for Penny to conclude her 'Star of the Week' duties! On Thursday, Penny brought in her favourite movie, which was 'Ice Age'. She spoke about the movie and the four in the series, and said she liked it because it was adventurous - which was a very original and descriptive way to tell us why she liked it. Penny's favourite book was 'How to Train Your Dragon'. She told us a little bit about the book, her favourite parts, and that it is book 9 in the series. She hasn't read all of the others in the series yet, but might get to them soon! Penny answered questions about the book well, and interestingly told us that the book is actually very different to the movie. On Tuesday, Penny brought in a giant soft puppy dog as her favourite toy. His name was 'Big Puppy', and Penny told us that she got him for Christmas when she was six years old. He's lost a little of his stuffing and is a bit floppier than he used to be, but Penny said Big Puppy is still a special toy to her. He sleeps on the end of her bed each night and he will make a great friend for our classroom's 'Big Ted' for the rest of the week! Penny began her week as the Sr-S Star with some of her favourite photos. She said she had to go through a lot of things at home to find the album. Penny shared with us photos of her family and some of her favourite moments growing up. They included a birthday party with a 'Jungle' theme, where she spent ages colouring herself in with texts to look like a lion! She had lots of photos of her smiling and having fun when she was younger, which was great to see.
